The Awakened: Reaper
Prologue
An Alterran human and demon crossbreed living in a community where werebeasts and humans live in harmony. All Alterrans experience Awakening at the age of 15 but Mors is a half demon and demon Awakening are 13 years old.
Mors was a son born from having his human mother been raped by a demon. As the mother was a month before giving birth, she escaped from the demon settlement and in hiding tried to abort her baby but failed due to have been very weak in her effort. A travelling group of bandits came across the dying mother and as she died the bandits were about to abandon the body when the boy was born. A lady bandit who recently lost her child decided to adopt the baby. The baby being dark skinned and was born from his dead mother was named Mors and in their language means Death, an appropriate name for a group of ruthless bandits.
Chapter 1 – Born from Death
In the world of Alterra, where magic mixes with ordinary life, a boy named Mors was born into a complicated family history. His mother was a regular human who was accosted by a demon, a dark and evil creature. This demon didn’t see her as a person, just something to use for his own twisted pleasure.
As time passed and she got pregnant with Mors, she knew it was risky because her child would be of mixed blood, which was a big problem in their society. So, she decided to leave her village, hoping to find safety somewhere else.
While she was out in the wild, a wild animal attacked her. Even though she was pregnant, she fought back to protect herself and her baby. She won, but she was hurt badly. The fight also caused her to go into labor earlier than expected.
But fate had other plans. While she was lying there, hurt and bleeding, a group of bandits found her. She was dying, but she managed to give birth to Mors before she passed away. Mors was born with dark skin and dark eyes, which made him stand out.
Mors grew up with the bandits, who became his family. They lived away from society and taught Mors how to survive in the wild. In Alterra, when people turn 15, they undergo a special event called Awakening, where they gain magical abilities. However, because Mors was half-demon, his Awakening happened earlier, at age 13.
As Mors neared his Awakening, he felt something stirring inside him, a powerful force reminding him of his heritage and the untapped power within him. One day, while hunting in the forest, Mors suddenly felt dizzy and his breath became short. He closed his eyes and surrendered to his Awakening.
It started subtly, like a whisper of energy tingling across his skin. But as he embraced the magic, Mors collapsed to the ground, overwhelmed by the experience. Then, he heard a voice in his head, revealing his newfound abilities.
He had a skill called “Grim Reaper,” which gave him control over death itself. Sub-skills included mastery over multiple languages, and able to read and write in all writing including ancient scripts, proficiency with a scythe, harvesting souls, summoning a Death Scythe, granting eternal rest, and other related abilities. Additionally, he gained “Ethereal Passage,” allowing him to move between the mortal realm and the realm of the dead, along with skills to summon spirits or ethereal beings, and command spectral beings. Another skill, “Survivor,” highlighted his resilience, adaptability, and luck in survival situations.
At that moment, Mors came into a realization that he was a half demon. Slowly, Mors rose to his feet, sadness showing in his eyes. He does not want these skills. He just wanted to live a normal life like any Alterrans. With determination, he decided to keep his true nature hidden from the bandits who had raised him.
As he made his way back through the forest, Mors thought out a plan as he knew that the path ahead would not be easy, knew that there would be challenges and obstacles to overcome, and he knew that he was to keep his secrets alone.
Suddenly, without warning, a guttural snarl echoed through the darkness, followed by the sound of claws scraping against the forest floor. Mors froze, his muscles tensing as he scanned the shadows for any sign of movement. And then they came, emerging from the depths of the forest like phantoms from the abyss converging on the bandits camp.
Creatures, twisted and malformed, their bodies contorted into grotesque shapes as they slunk through the underbrush with feral grace. Some walked on two legs, their forms hunched and misshapen, while others moved on all fours, their eyes gleaming with a predatory light as they fixed their gaze upon their prey.
With a silent curse, Mors drew his blade, the steel gleaming in the moonlight as he prepared to join in the chaos with his comrades. With their forms blurred and indistinct in the dim light of the moon, Mors’ comrades moved with a fluid grace, their movements synchronized as they wove through the ranks of the enemy with practiced ease. And then, with a sudden burst of energy, they launched into the fray, their weapons flashing as they joined Mors in his fight against the creatures.
As the battle raged on, Mors and his comrades fought with all their strength, their blade cutting through the ranks of the enemy like a scythe through wheat. But despite his best efforts, he could feel the tide of battle turning against them, could see the fear in the eyes of his companions as they were overwhelmed by the sheer ferocity of their foes.
Then from the depths of the forest, a towering figure emerged, its form shrouded in shadow as it loomed over the battlefield like a dark omen of doom. It was a demon, more powerful and more terrifying than any Mors had ever encountered, its eyes burning with a malevolent light as it fixed its gaze upon its prey.
With a roar that shook the very earth, the demon charged, its massive form hurtling towards the bandits with unstoppable force. The bandits braced theirselves for the impact, their muscles tense as they prepared to meet the enemy head-on. But even as they raised their blade to strike, they knew that this would be their greatest challenge yet, a battle that would test their strength and their courage to their very limits.
Mors realized he couldn’t face the demon alone; his combat skills weren’t enough. And with a heavy heart, he decided to tap into his newfound powers.
“Death Scythe,” he whispered, summoning the formidable weapon. With a sweeping motion, the Death Scythe harvested souls, creatures and bandits alike falling to its blade. But his former comrades, now terrified, cried out, “The Grim Reaper! He’s killing us!” and fled from the chaos.
Mors was shocked by the Death Scythe’s power and the unintended consequences. “I didn’t mean for this,” he murmured, as the dust settled around him. He knew revealing his true nature had consequences; he’d exposed himself to danger he’d tried to avoid.
Surrounded by monsters, bandits, and the demon, Mors found himself their target. The demon’s gaze fixed on him hungrily, seeking to devour his powers. Evading his former comrades and the demon’s grasp, Mors used “Ethereal Passage” to escape to a dark, desolate world.
Alone in this bleak realm, Mors grappled with his guilt. He knew he had to leave the bandits behind; he was now an outcast, hunted by demons craving his life and powers. Returning to the mortal world, he journeyed deeper into the forest, drawn to distant mountains.
Surviving on fruits and hunted game, Mors faced savage beasts and harsh terrain. His skills, honed by years of hardship, pushed him to his limits as he pressed onward toward the unknown.
At the foot of the mountains, Mors stood before a daunting figure shrouded in black armor, the Demon King. His eyes blazed with a ferocity that chilled Mors to the bone. This was no ordinary foe; it was the epitome of darkness and despair.
Uncertain but resolute, Mors faced the Demon King. “I’ve been seeking you, Grim Reaper,” the figure said, a hint of amusement in its voice. “Your power could serve me well.”
Mors bristled with anger. He had no desire to serve such a malevolent being. Gripping his sword tightly, he retorted, “I’ll never serve you. I’d rather die.”
The Demon King’s amusement turned to cold amusement. “So be it,” it replied ominously. “Your soul will be mine.”
Mors lunged at the Demon King, but his attack was effortlessly deflected, leaving him defenseless. In a desperate move, he invoked an incantation, transforming into the Grim Reaper, wielding a Death Scythe.
As the Grim Reaper, Mors faced the imposing figure of the Demon King. The air crackled with primal energy, foretelling a clash of titans. The Demon King’s aura loomed over the battlefield, suffocating all who opposed him.
With a thunderous roar, the Demon King charged at Mors, his formidable power evident in every stride. Mors braced himself, knowing this battle would be unlike any other. The Demon King was a force to be reckoned with, his mastery of dark magic unparalleled.
As the Demon King closed in, Mors felt a surge of adrenaline. With a swift motion, he raised his Death Scythe, ready to face the ultimate challenge head-on.
The clash between Mors and the Demon King resounded through the night, echoing like thunder. Mors fought fiercely, wielding his Death Scythe with determination. However, the Demon King was a formidable opponent, far more experienced than Mors. Despite his recent Awakening and newfound powers, Mors lacked the skill and experience to match the Demon King’s relentless attacks.
With each passing moment, the Demon King’s assault grew fiercer, fueled by an unseen power beyond mortal understanding. Mors struggled to keep up, feeling the weight of the Demon King’s strength pressing down on him like a suffocating darkness.
In a desperate attempt to escape, Mors utilized his “Ethereal Passage” skill, slipping into a shadowy realm where the Demon King couldn’t reach him. Though relieved to have evaded his enemy, Mors knew he couldn’t let his guard down. The Demon King would continue to pursue him relentlessly, and Mors needed to remain vigilant to survive.
Pressing forward in the shadowy world, Mors noticed a glow emanating from the forest. Attracted like a moth to the light, Mors pressed on until he reached the source of light.
The glow was coming from a cave. As he transitioned back into the physical world, he realized it was the eve of the Alterran new year, marked by a rare celestial event where both moons of Alterra eclipsed the sun for a full day. The cave looked like just an ordinary cave and not glowing.
Taking shelter from the storm in the, Mors went deeper into the cave. At the other end of the cave room was a glowing wall. Mors was wondering what it was. And as he touched the glowing wall, Mors felt a tinge of energy and his hands went through.
Curiosity seized Mors, compelling him to pass through the glowing wall.

Chapter 2 – An Encounter with Death
Mors stumbled through the portal, feeling disoriented as he emerged into the cavern on Earth. Gone was the familiar scent of magic, replaced by the earthy smell of damp stone and the sound of trickling water. Taking a moment to adjust, he surveyed his surroundings. The cavern’s walls were rough and jagged, with waterfalls cascading down from above. In the center, remnants of a camp lay scattered.
Realizing he couldn’t stay in the safety of the cavern for long, Mors knew he had to act quickly. Unsure if the Demon King had followed him, he climbed to the top of the cavern, emerging into an unfamiliar landscape. The air was cool and refreshing, a stark contrast to the humid world he left behind.
Taking in the vista of rolling hills and dense forests, Mors felt a mix of wonder and apprehension. In the distance, he spotted the lights of a village against the mountain backdrop. But what caught his eye the most was the sight of only one moon in the sky.
Turning to take in the view, Mors lost his footing and tumbled back into the cavern entrance. With a heavy thud, he lay on the cavern floor, exhausted from his ordeal. Drifting in and out of consciousness, he succumbed to much-needed rest, his body weary from the trials he had faced.
As Mors slowly regained consciousness, he found himself lying on the cold, damp floor of the hidden cavern. His head throbbed painfully, and he struggled to sit up, his senses still groggy from his extended rest. Panic surged within him as he realized the portal he had used to enter the cavern was nowhere in sight. He was stranded, alone, in an unfamiliar and alien world.
Taking in his surroundings, Mors noted the rugged walls of the cavern and the faint light filtering in from the entrance above. With a determined breath, he resolved to explore this new realm he had stumbled into.
Hours passed as Mors ventured through the forest, the stillness broken only by the rustle of leaves and distant birdcalls. He encountered no one on his journey, the solitude weighing heavily on him as he trekked through the dense foliage.
Suddenly, Mors heard the sound of rustling leaves approaching. With a start, he turned to see a group of soldiers emerge from the trees. They eyed him with suspicion, questioning him about his origins and how he came to be in their territory.
The soldiers were speaking in a foreign language other than his own but he comprehended them because of his passive skill that allows him to understand and speak all languages.
“You speak fluent Nihongo. Where did you come from?” asked an officer.
Struggling to explain his situation, Mors recounted his journey through the portal and his subsequent arrival in this strange land. The soldiers exchanged wary glances “Are there any people hiding in the cavern? Accompany us where this cavern is.”
After guiding the soldiers where the cavern was, Mors was ultimately escorted by a soldier to safety, guiding him down the mountain path to the forest below.
After what felt like an eternity of descent, Mors finally reached the forest floor. He paused to catch his breath, as the soldier left him and returned to his platoon in the forest.
As he emerged from the trees, Mors was greeted by the sight of a lively village bustling with activity. The villagers went about their daily routines, oblivious to the outsider in their midst.
Approaching cautiously, Mors observed the villagers with a mixture of curiosity and apprehension. Chatter filled the air as villagers bustled about their daily lives, unaware of Mors’s presence.
Approaching cautiously, Mors studied the faces around him, trying to comprehend this new world. But the villagers simply ignored him, their expressions blank. Dressed in a dirty, damp tunic with a leather sword at his side, Mors felt ignored and dismissed as a beggar.
Just as hope began to fade, a voice broke the silence from behind him. “Hey, this is our territory.” Mors turned to see a boy, accompanied by two others, speaking to him in another foreign language. Again his passive skill activated and said in the local language “Can you help me?”, gesturing hopefully.
“This is our territory. You better scram or you’ll get a beating,” the bigger boy warned, poking Mors in the chest.
Misunderstanding, Mors offered his name. “My name is ‘Mors’,” he said, tapping his chest.
“Well, Mors,” the bigger boy misheard, “You’re asking for it.” With a lunge, he tried to attack Mors, but Mors, accustomed to survival in a harsh environment, dodged and swiftly retaliated with an elbow to the back, sending the boy sprawling.
The other two boys rushed at Mors, only to receive punches to their stomachs, leaving them winded on the ground. As a shout and whistle pierced the air, a local patrol, the Tanod, approached.
“Hey you! Stay on your ground!” the patrol commanded. The bigger boy, named Duke, helped his comrades up, urging them to flee. “Yamus, Chink! Let’s get out of here.”
Startled, Mors seized the fallen boys under each arm and saying, “Lead the way,” urging the bigger boy.
Impressed by Mors’s strength, the bigger boy led the way as they fled the area, with Mors close behind.
Mors could hear the Tanods getting closer, their voices sounding louder as they chased after them. The bigger boy led them down an alleyway, but they reached a dead end. He struggled to climb over a low wall, but before he could help Mors, Mors had already jumped up the wall with two boys in his arms.
When they finally reached an abandoned house, they stopped to catch their breath. They were safe, at least for the moment, but they knew they couldn’t stay there for long.
Gratefully, the boys welcomed Mors into their group of street kids, surviving by begging and stealing. The bigger boy light skinned with blue eyes introduced himself as Duke and his friends were a chubby brown skinned kid named Yamus, and a skinny slanted eyed kid named Chink. On that day of January 3, 1942, Mors joined the tight-knit group of street kids, relying on each other for survival.
Mors spent his days with the boys, getting used to life on the streets. They begged for money and sometimes stole, always looking out for the Tanods who chased them away. They also fought with other street kids.
Sometimes, Mors would sit quietly in the corner of a public library, reading old komiks and books about heroes and adventures. He found them fascinating, and they helped him learn more about the language and culture of his new world.
But one thing was for sure: this world had no magic like Mors now Mors is devoid of magicles, the essential particles to be able to call upon his ultimate persona as Grim Reaper. All he can rely for now are his ‘Survivor’ skill and passive skills, which didn’t need active magic.
Mors, now fourteen, trudged wearily through the dark streets, his footsteps loud on the cold pavement. Mors usually spent the day until late night scrounging for food and money, just trying to survive in a world that felt tough and unforgiving. But that day, a young woman took mercy on him and gave him enough food so he decided to head back to their hangout.
Suddenly, he stumbled upon a shocking scene. Three people lay on the ground, beaten and hurt, while thugs hovered over them, throwing punches.
Without thinking, Mors jumped in. “Leave them alone, you bullies!” he shouted, his voice strong and fierce.
The thugs turned to face him, their expressions twisted into sneers of contempt as they sized him up. “Well, well, well, look what we have here,” one of them sneered, his voice dripping with malice. “Another crossbred come to join the party.”
True, they were orphaned crossbreds. Duke was a son of an American soldier from a local mother. Yamus was a son Indian father and local mother, Chink a son of a Chinese and local mother, while Mors was dark skinned that can be taken for an African boy.
Mors didn’t flinch. “I won’t let you hurt them,” he said firmly.
But the thugs just laughed. “What can a kid like you do?” one taunted.
Mors stood firm. He was fed up of the discrimination of people in any world. In his world, he was an outcast as a child of human and demon. In this world, they were discriminated because of the color of their skin.
The thugs laughed, thinking Mors was just a kid. But Mors didn’t back down. He fought hard, even when the thugs pulled out knives. Just as they were about to stab Mors, his friends got up to help him. But because they were already hurt, and Mors unable to move with his friends in the way, were stabbed with fatal injuries.
Realizing the weight of their actions, the thugs fled the area. “Come on, we’ve got to get out of here before the Tanods come!”
The thugs ran away, leaving Mors with his friends. “We’re sorry, we tried to protect you,” Duke said as he lay dying, along with Yamus and Chink.
Mors should have felt sad, but he didn’t. He realized that death is a natural part of life. He accepted it, feeling free from fear.
Then, Mors saw an apparition emerge from the shadows. It was dressed in black robes, holding a big scythe. It had come to take the souls of the dying.

Chapter 3 – A Night With Death
As Mors stood amidst the aftermath of the brutal confrontation, his senses heightened by the recent adrenaline rush, he noticed a peculiar figure emerging from the shadows. The dim glow of the street lamps barely illuminated the mysterious newcomer, casting an eerie aura around them.
Cloaked in billowing black robes, the figure cut a daunting silhouette against the backdrop of darkness. Mors felt a shiver run down his spine as he observed the skeletal hands clutching a massive, gleaming scythe. It was a sight that sent a chill coursing through his veins, for he knew all too well the significance of such an ominous presence.
A Reaper.
Mors scrambled to run but when he reached a corner, curiosity got the better of him. He was in a world devoid of magic and yet there was a Reaper. Mors half hidden in a corner observed the Reaper.
As the Reaper stood solemnly before the fallen bodies of Mors’ friends, a tense silence hung in the air. Mors watched, his heart heavy with grief and anger, as the Reaper made no immediate move to strike. Instead, it seemed to hover over the bodies like a foreboding presence, casting a shadow of doom over the scene.
Suddenly, Mors sensed another presence lurking in the shadows – a dark and malevolent entity stalking the Reaper and his fallen comrades. The sinister aura of the creature sent shivers down Mors’ spine, filling him with a deep sense of dread. He knew it posed a grave threat to both the Reaper and his dying friends.
Unable to stand idly by, Mors made a split-second decision to intervene. Stepping forward, he called out to the Reaper, urgently warning it of the danger lurking in the darkness. The Reaper turned to face him, its empty sockets fixing on Mors with a mix of curiosity and suspicion.
Before Mors could elaborate further, the shadow creature sprang from its hiding place, claws bared and aimed at the Reaper. Reacting swiftly, the Reaper wielded its scythe in defense, clashing with the creature in a fierce battle of wills.
The shadow creature hissed in pain as the Reaper’s scythe found its mark, but it quickly recovered, unleashing a renewed onslaught of attacks. The Reaper fought valiantly, every swing of its weapon fueled by an unyielding determination to protect itself and the souls it guarded.
But the shadow creature was relentless, overwhelming the Reaper with its ferocity. As it prepared to deliver a final, fatal blow, Mors acted on instinct. Grabbing a nearby stone, he felt a surge of dark energy envelop his hand as he hurled it towards the creature with all his might.
The stone, imbued with Mors’ rage and power, struck the shadow creature with force, causing it to recoil in pain. Momentarily distracted, the creature turned its attention towards Mors, giving the Reaper an opening to deliver a decisive blow with its scythe.
With a swift, decisive strike, the Reaper’s scythe cleaved through the shadow creature, its dark form dissipating into nothingness. As the creature fell, a glowing orb of light emerged from its dissipating form like a dark dust blowing in the wind.
The Reaper reached out towards the glowing orb, but before it could grasp it, the orb floated towards Mors. Mors felt a surge of energy coursing through his veins. His senses heightened, and a newfound strength filled his body. The Reaper, surprised by the unexpected turn of events, approached Mors cautiously, its form transforming into that of a nun in a mortal body.
“Thank you,” the Reaper spoke in a gentle, melodious voice. “You have saved not only me but also the souls under my care. ”
Mors stared in awe at the transformed Reaper, his mind struggling to comprehend the magnitude of what had just transpired. “What… what are you?” he stammered, his voice barely above a whisper.
The nun smiled warmly at Mors. ” My name is Mortis. I am a Reaper,” she explained. “An agent of Death. It is my duty to guide the souls of the dead to the afterlife, ensuring that they find peace and solace in their eternal rest.”
“Can I ask who might you be?” Mortis asked.
“I am Mors”, Mors simply said.
Mortis regarded him for a moment. Then said “You are neither a living or dead and yet you can perceive me and the shadow monster.” When Mors had a questioning eyes she added. “You don’t have a name.”
“The living have their name floating above their heads. The cruel and evil ones have a dark tinge on their names and the good ones have a light tinge on their names. The neutral ones have a grayish tinge on their names. Even then they have meet their demise, their souls have names on them. The ethereal beings like the Reapers and the shadow monsters, as well as the angels and the minions of the evil do not have a name.
Those who do not have names living as mortals are either agent of good, evil, or a Reaper. The Reapers are agents of Death. Death does not go around guiding souls to the afterlife alone. There are Reapers like me who do this to protect and guide the souls to the Death’s Door before they are consumed by the shadow monsters.” Mortis said.
“Why did the monster attacked you?” Mors asked.
“As the living pass away, their souls separate from their bodies. This is their most vulnerable moment that the shadow monster feed off their souls. However, there are souls that do not get to enter Death’s Door and so that they wander the spirit realm. They are the lost souls and constantly hide from Reapers and shadow monsters. Some are so evil that an aura of darkness surround them and some have certain glow.
The Immortals have a consensus mainly between the Good and Evil, that they do not interfere with the wandering lost souls. But Evil abused a loophole that his minions temp and trick the mortals and the lost souls to form a contract with them, deeming their souls to be consumed by the Evil. But Good being good, does not exploit the loophole but instead await the day of the Gathering of the Righteous where the mortal souls and the wandering lost souls shall face Judgement.” Mortis explained.
“How about Death, and the Reapers, whose side are you on?” Mors asked suspiciously for Death is often associated with evil.
Mors listened intently as Mortis elaborated on the role of the Reapers and the importance of their mission. She spoke of the delicate balance between life and death, and the solemn responsibility Reapers carried in safeguarding the transition of souls from one realm to the next.
Then as if on cue, the souls of Mors’ friends left their body. Ghostly figures of his friends looked around then hugged each other. They saw Mors as a glowing door appeared. With a bit of hesitation, they passed through the glowing door and it vanished after them.
“The Reapers are only to guide souls who are willing to enter Death’s Door. However, the minions of Evil have corrupted the shadow world with negative energy causing the souls to wander and become wandering lost souls and affect the mortal world with lost hope and despair. The Reapers cannot do anything about the corruption.” Mortis said.
“But you, an entity not bound by the rules of this world, neither good, evil, or a reaper and yet have emanating powers of the Reaper.” Mortis said. “You could hunt there shadow monsters to protect the lost souls.”
“And what do I get after hunting these shadow monsters and demons?” Mors said.
“This is Aetherium, the essence of magic.” Mortis said, showing a glowing crystal.
Mors pondered, Is this a trick, a way to using my powers in the service of the demons? Then after much thought Mors said “I shall accept on certain conditions. I shall not enter into any form of contract and work under anyone or any beings. I get to choose a job that I want to tackle and I do what I want without consequence, and you” Mors said gazing at Mortis “don’t get to take my soul.”
“Very well then, as gratitude for saving me, I will give you these.” Mortis said, reaching into the folds of her nun’s robe and producing a small pouch. “These are the tools of the Reaper.”
Mors accepted the pouch, curiosity piqued as he examined its contents. But instead a kind of transparent display appeared before him showing the contents of the pouch. The display showed an assortment of items: a small vial of ethereal liquid, a black book, a sort of a scroll or map, and a mysterious crystal that seemed to shimmer with otherworldly energy.
“You only need to touch the image of the item and select a quantity that you want to retrieve. ” Mortis explained.
“Ah. This is a Storage item.” Mors commented and with a touch on the display, a crystal materialized on Mors hand. He could feel its power humming beneath his touch, a potent energy that seemed to pulse with life.
“Take it,” Mortis urged, a smile playing at the corners of his lips. “It is yours now. I will get a replacement after I report that I lost my tools when I fought a shadow monster. As to the weapons to fight the shadow monsters, I might find a way to get hold of a death scythe.”
Then Mors remembering the glowing orb and the power that surge in his veins called up to the dormant skill that was in him. “Grim Reaper” Mors chanted.
Mors transformed into the Grim Reaper persona, in his majestic black robes over black clothes, gloves and boots. On his hand was the Death Scythe, more marvelous than that of Mortis’ own scythe.
Mortis who was carrying herself with authority and confident earlier suddenly pale in comparison with Mors the Grim Reaper.
“Who.. who are you?” Mortis asked bewildered.
“I am Mors, a Grim Reaper from another world.” Mors said.
End of Chapter 3
Chapter 4 – The World of Death
“So I guess were partners?” Mors asked Mortis.
“I cannot be the same level as you,” Mortis said. “Sir,” she added while bowing.
“Why the ‘sir’ all of a sudden?” Mors asked.
“The Grim Reaper, in any world are higher levels of the Reapers and deserve respect.” Mortis said.
“So there are other Grim Reapers then?” Mors asked.
“Yes. Though there is only one Death, the supreme ancient being since before time itself.” Mortis said.
Mors thinking the Grim Reaper are the equivalent of S-Rank Hunters than the lower ranked hunters that are the Reapers.
“Just drop the ‘sir’ and call me Mors. It’s means death in my world” Mors said in a friendly manner.
“It will be a pleasure Mors”. Mortis said.
“Now Mortis, tell me how you slip into the spirit world, or travel in the mortal world” Mors asked questions after questions.
Mortis answered all of Mors’ questions in details. Apparently, Mortis would check her map-scroll for assignments. The list of names and location as well as difficulty and reward are listed on the map-scroll. The map can be zoomed in or out and is used to navigate to the intended assignment. Only the places that the Reaper has been at are showed in the map. To go to a point in the map, the Reaper would only touch the dot and then slip into the shadow and emerge into the intended location.
“Does the Reapers die when the monsters attack them?” Mors asked.
“If our essence is intact, we get to revive in the Ethereal Realm in a weakened state. You could say we loss a few levels. So we strive to regain our losses by taking in higher ranked assignments. We use the Aetherium to improve our equipment and as energy to replenish our strength and maintain our essence.” Mortis said. “However, there are Reapers who lost their essence once the shadow monsters or demons consume them.”
“So how do I get to register as a Reaper then?” Mors said.
“Well, since you are already the Grim Reaper, you can always go to the Ethereal Realm and ask for the Death Pouch. Just state that you lost yours. You will only get the pouch, black book, and the map-scroll though. You wont have a name that you lost your Death Pouch so it’s okay. The third time and onwards you claim for a lost Death Pouch gets deducted charged for two Aetherium.” Mortis said.
“How many times did you lost yours.” Mors asked.
“This is my fifth time. Most Reapers lost their Death Pouch at least 15 times before getting to the Grim Reaper rank. The Death Pouch cannot be used by other entities aside from Reapers.” Mortis said.
“Then I shall return this to you and claim for my own. Led the way to the Ethereal Realm” Mors said.
Mortis briefed Mors about the Ethereal Realm on what to act and to say before opening a Death’s Door to the Ethereal Realm.
They emerged on a brightly lit hall with several Reapers discussing. Mortis guided Mors to a desk where a clerk dressed in black suit that of a mortician welcomed Mors with a smile.
“What can I do to help?” the clerk asked.
“I lost my Death Pouch” Mors pretended with authority.
“Okey, no problem. Please place you hand on this panel and state your name.” the clerk said.
Mors placed his hand on the panel and said “Mors”.
The clerk took the panel and said. “Oh this is your first time to lost a Death Pouch. How unusual.” The clerk said.
Mors just kept silent. Less talk, less doubts as Mortis said.
After a while the clerk handed Mors a Death Pouch containing a map-scroll, and a black book. The black book was a guide and manual of sorts for the Reapers on how to guide the souls and use the tools.
After that, Mors went back to Death Door with Mortis walking ahead. They emerged on a boulevard as ethereal beings. Mortis changed into a young woman in casual clothes and taught Mors how to change into someone.
“Reapers can change their appearance at will. We appear less conspicuous to mortals and tend to ignore us when we don’t speak to them.” Mortis said.
“So where do you live?” Mors asked.
“Some Reapers roam the spirit world as shadow apparition. Some would stay in mausoleums and some would stay in the graveyards. But some, like me, would take in human form and indulge in the pleasures of the mortal. I love eating Indian Mangos although it doesn’t really give us nutrition.” Mortis said.
“So you do not have a house?” Mors asked.
Mortis shook her head. “Some of the Reapers would live on abandoned houses where they put the things they collected in the mortal world but are always in constant vigilant of the monsters and demons. You see, the Aetherium we have as reward of the souls that we guide are highly sought after by the shadow monsters and demons.”
“Why not build a house in the Shadow World?” Mors suggested.
“Shadow World?” Mortis asked.
“Here, hold my hand” Mors said and when Mortis did, Mors slipped into the shadow and emerged in the Shadow World.
Mortis was surprised and confused as to where they were. “Where are we?” Mortis asked.
The surrounding was like under the constant shadow of the clouds, casting an eternal twilight over its landscape. The air is thick with a palpable sense of foreboding, and shadows dance and twist in macabre patterns. There were broken roads, abandoned houses, structures, and buildings. A shadow of the structures of the mortal world. But the terrains are the same. Water flows on the streams with ominous dead trees.
“To my knowledge, this is the shadow of the mortal world. No mortals here. Perhaps there are shadow monsters here that I can hunt. Their essence proves valuable for me.” Mors said.
“Oh… This is perfect. Reapers can live here. I mean this is your realm, right?” Mortis said.
“Well, I don’t think so. I could only travel to here using my skill. I could teach you a spell to allow you to slip into the Shadow World. Although, there might be shadow monsters here too.” Mors said.
“Well, with your help, we could build a community for Reapers here. Monster essences can be exchange for ‘royalty’ for giving the Reapers a place to build their homes since it is valuable to you. We usually exchange monster essence for extra items in the Ethereal Realm as incentives to encourage the Reapers to taking down shadow monsters.” Mortis said. “Although Reapers need Aetherium to maintain our essence, Reapers can also pay in Aetherium, a more potent source of energy and can be used for crafting enchanted items, or powering magical devices”
“Okay then, we shall need a place that we can build Reaper community.” Mors said.
“Oh, I know a place since Shadow Wold has the same terrain of the mortal world.” Mortis said and tapping appoint on her map, guided Mors to emerge on a plateau in the mountains.
“Lucky for us, the map still works here and I presume the other tools too.” Mortis said.
Mors looked around and noticed it look familiar. Mors checked his map. A few distance away was the cavern where he emerged from the other world.
The plateau is surrounded by hills and mountains. It evokes a sense of natural beauty, tranquility, and foreboding.
“Yes. This is perfect. I know a place where I can build my abode. Let’s call this area ‘Shadowland’.” Nors said.
At that day, Mors taught the spell to Mortis on how to slip in into the Shadow World. In no time, she had ‘invited’ several Reapers to the Shadow World. This encouraged the Reapers to take on more difficult assignment and gained more experience in fighting the shadow monsters to protect the souls transitioning into the afterlife.
Some lost souls, having been brought in by some Reapers as they escape the shadow monsters in the mortal world began residing in the Shadowland.
The Reapers cannot force the lost souls to move on as it is their choice. Most lost souls prefer not to move on to the afterlife, while some have escaped the Reapers during their transition from having died. As long as a lost soul do not possess a mortal, in which if they do will make them demons thus allow the Reapers to attack them.
To earn their keep, the lost souls initially build Reaper houses in exchange for the protection against shadow monsters. Some were rewarded with monster essence and Aetherium which the lost souls used to craft weapons and tools. Soon some of these lost souls were referred to as Dark Smiths.
Some lost souls toil the earth, cultivating sustenance to maintain their essence from crops unique to the realm. They nurture fruits and vegetables that thrive only in the Shadow World’s soil. Others have learned hunting and taming shadow creatures native to this domain.
The shadow monsters have noticed the presence of the lost souls in the Reaper community but avoid raiding the settlement because the Reapers are in one place and can easily band together to subjugate them.
The Shadowland flourished where Reapers reside in a place they can call home, together with the lost souls who finally have a place away from the contact fear of being hunter by shadow monsters.

Chapter 5 – The Cats of Death
Mors built his abode on the cavern in the Shadowland. The mortal world was at war and souls are constantly being protected and guided by the Reapers. Grim Reapers assist in subjugating the stronger monster shadows and in turn gets to live in a better settlement on the Shadow World.
The Ethereal Realm has become aware of the Shadow World, and since there are no conflicts of interest, it has decided to let the matters be.
On his exploration of the Shadow World, Mors encounters a group of lost souls who manage to slip into the Shadow World though glitches in the shadows. who ask for his help in protecting them against a group of shadow cats.
As Mors explored the eerie landscape of the Shadow World, Mors spotted a group of lost souls huddled together in the building ruins. They approached him cautiously, their voices echoing softly in the darkness.
“We seek your aid, Reaper,” the head of the group of lost souls spoke, its voice tinged with desperation. “A clowder of shadow cats is hunting us, and we are too weak to continue fighting them.”
The lost souls, who managed to slip into the Shadow world though glitches in the shadows, were capable warriors, remnants of their ethereal clothes were that of the Japanese soldiers wielding their Katana, and guerilla warriors in their peasant clothes wielding bolos and makeshift spears.
Mors nodded solemnly, his gaze shifting towards the shadows that danced at the edge of his vision. He could sense the presence of the shadow cats lurking nearby, their predatory instincts keen and relentless.
“Fear not,” Mors reassured the lost souls, his voice firm and unwavering. “I will protect you from harm.”
With a swift motion, Mors unsheathed readied his Death Scythe, its blade gleaming in the faint light. He stood poised and ready, his senses alert for any sign of danger. The lost souls hid in the shadow buildings, their ethereal forms pulsing with anticipation.
Suddenly, a low growl echoed through the darkness, followed by the sound of padding footsteps. The shadow cats emerged from the shadows. They were as large as a bison, their eyes glowing with a malevolent light as they closed in on their prey.
Mors sprang into action, the blade of his Death Scythe slashing through the air with deadly precision. The shadow cats lunged at him with razor-sharp claws and gnashing teeth, but Mors was ready for them. He fought with a ferocity born of years of training and experience, his movements fluid and graceful as he fended off their attacks.
The lost souls watched in awe as Mors battled the shadow cats, their spirits buoyed by his unwavering courage. With each strike of his blade, the shadow cats faltered, their dark forms dissipating into wisps of smoke as they were vanquished by the shadow hunter’s skill and determination. Their essence, in the form of glowing orb, was left on their place.
As the leader of the shadow cats emerged from the depths of the darkness, accompanied by a horde of reinforcements, Mors braced himself for the inevitable confrontation. The air crackled with tension as the two adversaries faced off, their eyes locked in a silent battle of wills.
Sensing the impending conflict, the lost souls watched anxiously from the sidelines. They knew that Mors was their only hope against the relentless onslaught of the shadow cats, and they held their breath in anticipation of the impending showdown.
Mors used his Linguist skill to challenge the leader of the shadow cats. “Listen to me, leader of the shadow cats,” Mors spoke with conviction, “We need not be enemies. Let us settle this dispute with honor, in single combat.”
The leader of the shadow cats hesitated, his eyes narrowing as he considered Mors’ proposal. He could sense the strength of conviction in Mors’ words, and a part of him was intrigued by the prospect of a one-on-one battle against such a formidable opponent.
After a moment of tense silence, the leader of the shadow cats nodded in agreement, his lips curling into a predatory grin. “Very well, Reaper,” he replied, his voice tinged with anticipation. “I accept your challenge.”
With a nod of acknowledgment, Mors and the leader of the shadow cats squared off, their gazes locked in a silent exchange of determination. The lost souls held their breath, their spectral forms shimmering with anticipation as they watched the two adversaries prepare for battle.
Without warning, the leader of the shadow cats lunged forward, his claws extended in a deadly arc as he sought to strike Mors down with a ferocious onslaught of attacks. But Mors was ready for him, his enhanced reflexes honed by being an Awakened.
With a swift motion, Mors dodged the leader’s initial assault, his movements fluid and precise as he countered with a series of lightning-fast strikes. The leader snarled in frustration, his eyes burning with fury as he unleashed a barrage of attacks in retaliation.
But Mors was unfazed, his focus unwavering as he danced nimbly around his opponent, the blade of his Death Scythe flashing in the dim light of the Shadow World. With each strike, he wore down the leader’s defenses, chipping away at his resolve with relentless precision.
As the battle raged on, the lost souls watched in awe as Mors and the leader of the shadow cats clashed in a deadly dance of death and destruction. They could sense the raw power coursing through Mors, his determination to emerge victorious burning bright in the darkness.
Finally, with a final, decisive blow, Mors struck down the leader of the shadow cats, his blade piercing the creature’s heart with a swift and deadly precision. The leader let out a guttural roar of defeat, his form dissolving into wisps of shadow as he crumbled to the ground, leaving a familiar glow of an Aetherium.
With the leader defeated, the remaining shadow cats looked to Mors with a mixture of fear and awe, their instincts telling them to obey the new alpha of their clowder. Mors met their gaze with a steely resolve, his presence commanding respect and obedience.
“I am your new alpha,” Mors declared, his voice ringing out with authority. “From this day forth, you will obey my every command and order without question. Together, we will ensure the safety of the lost souls and protect the balance of the Shadow World.”
The shadow cats bowed their heads in submission, their loyalty pledged to their new leader. With Mors at their helm, they knew that they would face whatever challenges lay ahead with courage and determination.
Mors stood tall, his presence commanding respect among the shadow cats that surrounded him. He nodded in acknowledgment as the larger shadow cat pledged his loyalty, recognizing the importance of unity among their ranks.
A larger shadow cat approached Mors in submission. “My Lord I was the next in line as the alpha. But as we have you as our alpha, I submit to your leadership with unwavering loyalty.”
“Very well, I shall have you in charge of the shadow cats from here on.” Mors said.
The other shadow cats echoed their agreement, their voices a chorus of determination and resolve.
The lost souls gathered around Mors, their gratitude evident in the shimmering light of their forms. “Thank you, Reaper,” they murmured, their voices filled with relief and gratitude.
After much consideration, Mors faced them and said “You shall form a buddy system, a lost soul and a shadow cat.” Mors told the head of the group of lost souls and the clowder leader. “Together you shall be called Shadow Cat Riders. And shall protect the lost souls in Shadow World.”
And as the lost souls looked on in wonder, Mors had the lost souls and the shadow cats formed an unlikely alliance, giving them a mission to protect the Shadow World from the forces of darkness. Together, they would stand as guardians in the shadows, their spirits intertwined in a bond forged through the trials of battle and the fires of adversity.
The lost souls gathered the shadow cats essences as Mors picked up the Aetherium from the defeated shadow cat former leader and stored it on his Death Pouch.
With a sense of satisfaction, Mors led the lost souls, with some riding on the back of the shadow cats, to the Reaper community. Mors announced the alliance of the particular group of shadow cats and their new role as guardians of the lost souls. Soon some lost souls trained to become Shadow Hunters to hunt and fight the shadow monsters.
The head of the lost souls was given the role to manage the lost souls in the Reaper community together with the large shadow cat as the leader of the Shadow Cats.

Chapter 6 – Schattenheim and the Tech of Death
Mors, his cloak billowing behind him, led his group of Shadow Cat Riders through the labyrinthine alleys of the Shadow World. The air was thick with an otherworldly chill, and the shadows danced around them as if alive. They navigated the winding paths with ease, their feline companions prowling ahead, senses alert for any sign of danger.
As they rounded a corner, they stumbled upon a settlement of lost souls. These were not the usual denizens of the Shadow World, but rather a group of German soldiers, their uniforms tattered and worn. At their head stood an imposing figure with a chubby face and a friendly demeanor, his gaze piercing as he assessed the newcomers.
Mors approached, his hand resting on the hilt of his scythe. “Greetings,” he said, his voice echoing in the stillness of the air. “We mean no harm. We are merely travelers passing through.”
The leader of the soldiers regarded him with suspicion, but after a moment, he nodded. “Welcome to Schattenheim,” he said, his voice gravelly with disuse. “We have not had visitors in many years.”
Mors and his companions dismounted, their shadows merging with those of the soldiers as they moved through the settlement. The atmosphere was tense, but there was also a sense of camaraderie among the lost souls, a shared bond forged in the depths of the Shadow World.
As they wandered through the streets, Mors learned the story of the soldiers. They had been trapped in the Shadow World during a battle many years ago, their souls unable to find peace. Then more and more German souls, civilians and soldiers alike, have come to settle in the area. Since then, they had built a makeshift community, eking out a living in the shadow of their former lives.
The leader of the soldiers, whose name was Ernst, spoke of their struggles and their hopes for the future. “I was once was betrayed in the ideals of our nation in the mortal world. And yet we died in a ‘Blood Purge’. Now, it doesn’t matter anymore.” He longed to find a way out of the Shadow World, to return to the land of the living and be reunited with his loved ones.
Mors listened intently, his heart heavy with empathy for the lost souls. He knew what it was like to be trapped in this spectral realm, to yearn for something beyond its boundaries. But he also knew the dangers that lurked in the darkness, the ever-present threat of the Void that sought to consume all.
“You have a rather large community here. How did you manage to survive so far?” Mors wondered.
“Ah, lucky for our, our brightest inventors and innovators are with us in this community. Come, we have much to show you.” Said Ernst.
Mors nodded, curious to see what inventions they have developed. He followed Ernst through the settlement, his companions trailing behind him.
Ernst led them to a makeshift workshop at the edge of the settlement, where a group of lost souls were busy at work. They were tinkering with strange devices, their faces illuminated by the eerie glow of the Shadow World.
“We have been working on something special,” Ernst said, gesturing towards the machines. “Using the essence of the monsters that roam this world, we have developed technologies that can harness their energy.”
Mors looked around, impressed by what he saw. The lost souls had indeed made remarkable progress, utilizing the resources of the Shadow World to create something truly innovative.
“We call it Shadow-Tech,” Ernst continued. “It is still in the experimental stages, but we believe it has the potential to revolutionize life here in the Shadow World.”
Mors nodded, his mind racing with possibilities. Shadow-Tech could be a game-changer, providing new opportunities for survival and advancement in this harsh and unforgiving realm.
“What exactly can Shadow-Tech do?” Mors asked, his curiosity piqued.
Ernst smiled, a glint of excitement in his eyes. “It can enhance our abilities, allowing us to move more freely within the Shadow World. It can also be used to ward off the creatures that dwell here, providing protection for our settlement.”
Mors was intrigued by the possibilities. Shadow-Tech could give them an edge in their ongoing struggle against the forces of darkness, a way to level the playing field and assert their dominance in this realm of shadows.
“We would be honored to collaborate with you,” Mors said, extending his hand in friendship.
Mors and his companions observed as the bustling trade commenced in Schattenheim. Shadow-Tech products gleamed on display tables and shops catching the dim light of the Shadow World in their intricate designs. Ernst stood at a stage, showcasing the products of their settlement with a sense of pride.
“We’ve got quite the selection today,” Ernst announced, gesturing towards the array of Shadow-Tech devices. “From magic lanterns to drill machines, we have something for everyone.”
The trade commenced, with Shadow-Tech products exchanging hands in a flurry of activity. Magic lanterns were traded for vials of monster essence, while drill machines were exchanged for shimmering crystals of Aetherium. The air hummed with anticipation as the transactions unfolded, each party eager to secure the best deal.
As the trading continued, Mors approached Ernst, his curiosity piqued by the sight of the Shadow-Tech devices. “These are impressive,” he said, eyeing the array of gadgets with interest. “How did you come up with them?”
Ernst smiled, a twinkle of pride in his eyes. “It was a collaborative effort,” he explained. “We pooled our knowledge and resources, combining the ancient wisdom of the Shadow World with the ingenuity of the mortal realm.”
Mors nodded, impressed by the ingenuity of the German souls. They had managed to harness the power of both worlds, creating devices that were both practical and innovative.
“Magic lanterns have become indispensable for our safety,” Ernst said, gesturing towards the flickering lights. “They help keep the shadows at bay, allowing us to work and live without fear.”
Further down the street, they came upon a drill machine, its gears whirring as it dug into the earth. “With this machine, we can mine for minerals more efficiently,” Ernst explained. “It has greatly increased our production capabilities.”
Next, they visited a stall where a group of souls huddled around a magic radio, its static-filled speakers crackling with life. “This radio allows us to tap into the radio signals from the mortal world,” Ernst said. “It provides us with valuable information and entertainment, keeping us connected to the world beyond.”
Mors’s eyes widened with surprise. The idea of being able to receive communication from the mortal world was intriguing, to say the least.
“How does it work?” he asked, his curiosity getting the better of him.
Ernst grinned, reaching out to adjust the dials on the device. “Watch and learn,” he said, his fingers dancing over the controls.
Suddenly, the magic radio crackled to life, emitting a faint static noise. Mors listened intently, his heart pounding with anticipation.
And then, as if by magic, a voice emerged from the static, clear and unmistakable. It was a broadcast from the mortal world, the sound of human voices drifting through the ether.
Mors’s eyes widened with wonder as he listened to the voices from afar. It was a reminder of the world beyond the Shadow World, a world that he had once called home.
Mors listened with fascination, his mind spinning with the possibilities. The German souls had not only adapted to life in the Shadow World but had thrived, using their newfound technology to bridge the gap between worlds.
Their final stop was at a workshop where a team of souls were putting the finishing touches on a steam engine, its pistons pumping rhythmically as it powered a nearby machine. “This steam engine is the heart of our industrial operations,” Ernst said proudly. “It provides us with the energy we need to fuel our progress.”
Among the myriad inventions, none were as remarkable as the electric prod—a tool devised specifically to neutralize shadow monsters. Upon stunning these creatures, the prod absorbed their essence, rendering them lifeless without dispersing them. This innovative method left the monsters incapacitated, enabling souls to gather their materials unhindered, thus significantly enhancing resource collection efficiency.
“We have developed a method for butchering the shadow monsters,” Ernst explained, his voice grave. “It is a necessary evil, but it allows us to obtain the materials we need to continue our work.”
Mors nodded, understanding the gravity of their situation. In the Shadow World, survival often meant making difficult choices, and the German souls had shown themselves to be resourceful and resilient in the face of adversity.
As they bid farewell to Ernst and the people of Schattenheim, Mors felt a renewed sense of purpose. With Shadow-Tech at their disposal, they would be better equipped than ever to confront the challenges that lay ahead, forging a path towards a brighter future in the depths of darkness.
Soon a shadow train was travelling between Shadowland and Schattenheim, with shadow steam boats exploring the Shadow World rivers.

Chapter 7 – The Bird of Death
Mors and the Shadow Cat Riders continued their exploration of the Shadow World, their Shadow Cats prowling ahead as they ventured into uncharted territory. The air was thick with anticipation as they delved deeper into the shadows, mapping out the areas surrounding the settlements they had discovered.
As they rode, they came upon a vast expanse of land, its terrain rugged and untamed. The landscape was dotted with strange rock formations and twisted trees, casting eerie shadows in the fading light.
“This looks like a promising area for further exploration,” Mors said, his voice tinged with excitement. “Let us proceed cautiously.”
The Shadow Cat Riders nodded in agreement, their senses on high alert as they moved through the unfamiliar landscape. They could sense that they were entering the territory of territorial creatures, and they knew they would have to tread carefully if they were to avoid confrontation.
As they rode deeper into the wilderness, they began to encounter signs of life. Strange creatures lurked in the shadows, their eyes glowing with malevolent intent as they watched the intruders with suspicion.
Suddenly, they stumbled upon a clearing, its center dominated by a massive creature with razor-sharp claws and gleaming eyes. It was clear that they had entered the territory of the territorial creatures, and they would have to face the consequences of their intrusion.
The creature let out a deafening roar, its voice echoing through the darkness as it charged towards them with fury. Mors and the Shadow Cat Riders braced themselves for battle, their weapons at the ready as they prepared to defend themselves against the fearsome beast.
“Stay together!” Mors shouted, his voice cutting through the chaos as they fought for their lives. The Shadow Cats leaped into action, their claws slashing through the air as they clashed with the creature in a fierce struggle for dominance.
The battle raged on, each side refusing to back down as they fought tooth and claw for control of the territory. Mors and his companions fought with all their strength, their determination unwavering as they faced the relentless onslaught of the territorial creatures.
“Focus your attacks on its underbelly!” Mors called out, his voice ringing with authority as he led the charge against the creature’s weak spot. The Shadow Cat Riders followed his lead, their weapons striking true as they aimed for the creature’s exposed flank.
The creatures seemed to multiply with each passing moment, their twisted forms writhing with malice as they closed in on their prey.
Mors gritted his teeth, his blade slicing through the air with deadly precision as he fended off the relentless onslaught. Beside him, the Shadow Cat Riders fought with a ferocity that matched his own, their movements fluid and coordinated as they worked together to push back the advancing horde.
But despite their best efforts, the shadow monsters seemed endless, their numbers overwhelming as they continued to press forward with unrelenting determination. Mors knew that they needed to find a way to turn the tide of battle, or risk being overrun by the relentless onslaught.
With a surge of adrenaline coursing through him, Mors summoned all of his strength and focus, his mind racing as he searched for a solution. And then, in a flash of inspiration, it came to him.
“We need to disrupt their formation!” Mors called out to the Shadow Cat Riders, his voice cutting through the chaos of battle. “Focus your attacks on the perimeter, and we’ll create an opening to break through!”
The Shadow Cat Riders nodded in agreement, their eyes shining with determination as they followed Mors’ lead. With renewed purpose, they unleashed a barrage of attacks on the outer edges of the swirling mass of darkness, their blades cutting through the shadows with precision and skill.
Slowly but surely, the tide began to turn, the shadow monsters faltering under the relentless assault of Mors and the Shadow Cat Riders. With each passing moment, their numbers dwindled, until finally, there was only a handful left standing.
With a final, decisive blow, Mors struck down the last of the shadow monsters, his blade slicing through the darkness with a satisfying crunch. As the creature dissolved into wisps of smoke, leaving their essences in a glowing orb, a sense of triumph washed over him, his heart pounding with adrenaline as he surveyed the battlefield.
“We did it,” Mors said, his voice filled with pride and satisfaction.
The Shadow Cat Riders cheered in response, their voices ringing out through the darkness as they celebrated their hard-won victory. Together, they had faced down the darkness and emerged victorious, their bond stronger than ever as they stood united against the forces of evil.
Hours passed as they traversed the shadowed landscape, their steeds carrying them swiftly through the darkness. And then, just as they were beginning to tire, they stumbled upon the territory of a large night bird, its wings spanning the sky like a dark omen.
Mors eyed the night bird warily, his senses tingling with anticipation. He knew that this would be their toughest challenge yet, but he was more than ready to face it head-on.
With a silent command, Mors and the Shadow Cat Riders launched into action, their blades flashing as they engaged the night bird in combat. The creature fought with a ferocity that matched their own, its talons slicing through the air with deadly precision.
But Mors and the Shadow Cat Riders were relentless, their attacks relentless as they pressed the creature back with each strike. Slowly but surely, they began to gain the upper hand, their combined strength overwhelming the night bird as they fought tooth and nail for victory.
And then, with a final, decisive blow, Mors struck the killing blow, his blade piercing the heart of the night bird. With a deafening screech, the creature collapsed to the ground, its form dissipating into wisps of smoke as it vanished into the darkness leaving an Aetherium and what looked like a pendant with a pair of wings.
As the dust settled, Mors felt a surge of energy coursing through him, a newfound sense of power that filled him with exhilaration. He had defeated the night bird, and in doing so, he had unlocked a new ability: the ability to summon defeated adversaries to aid him in combat.
As Mors soared through the sky on the wings of the night bird, a sense of freedom washed over him. He felt the wind rushing past him, his senses heightened as he surveyed the shadowed landscape below. Beside him, the Shadow Cat Riders watched in awe, their eyes wide with wonder as they marveled at their leader’s newfound ability.
“This is incredible,” one of the Shadow Cat Riders exclaimed, their voice filled with awe. “I never knew you could fly, Master!”
Mors chuckled, a grin spreading across his face as he adjusted to the sensation of flight. “Neither did I,” he replied, his voice tinged with excitement. “But it seems the night bird’s power has granted me this ability.”
As they flew, Mors and the Shadow Cat Riders continued to explore the shadowed landscape, their steeds carrying them swiftly through the darkness. They encountered no further adversaries, the night bird’s territory proving to be eerily quiet as they soared through the sky.
But just as they were beginning to relax, they spotted something in the distance – a towering structure rising up from the shadows like a beacon in the night. Intrigued, Mors guided the Night Bird towards it, his curiosity piqued by the sight of the mysterious edifice.

Chapter 8 – The Shadow Kingdom in the World of Death
As they drew closer, Mors could see that the structure was unlike anything he had ever seen before. It was a massive fortress, its walls looming high above them as they approached. Strange symbols adorned its surface, glowing faintly in the darkness as if beckoning them closer.
“What do you think it is?” one of the Shadow Cat Riders asked, their voice filled with curiosity.
Mors shook his head, his brow furrowed in concentration as he studied the fortress. “I’m not sure,” he admitted. “But there’s only one way to find out.”
With that, he urged the Night Bird forward, its powerful wings carrying them towards the fortress with ease. As they approached, Mors could see figures moving along the battlements, their forms shrouded in shadow as they watched their approach with keen interest.
“Be on your guard,” Mors warned, his voice low and serious. “We don’t know what awaits us inside.”
The Shadow Cat Riders nodded in agreement, their blades at the ready as they prepared to face whatever dangers lay ahead.
With a sense of determination burning within him, Mors led the way as they landed outside the fortress walls. As they dismounted, he could feel the eyes of the shadowy figures upon them, their presence looming over them like a dark cloud.
But Mors refused to be intimidated. With a steely resolve, he stepped forward, his gaze steady as he addressed the figures before him.
“We come in peace,” he called out, his voice echoing through the darkness. “We seek answers, nothing more. Will you allow us entry?”
There was a tense moment of silence, broken only by the sound of the wind whistling through the fortress walls. And then, to Mors’ surprise, the figures parted, allowing them passage into the fortress.
“Thank you,” Mors said, his voice filled with gratitude as he led the way inside. “We won’t forget this kindness.”
As they entered the fortress, Mors couldn’t help but feel a sense of unease wash over him. The air was thick with tension, the shadows closing in around them like a suffocating blanket. But he pushed the feeling aside, focusing instead on the task at hand.
“We must proceed with caution,” he warned the Shadow Cat Riders, his voice low and serious. “There’s no telling what dangers lie ahead.”
The Shadow Cat Riders nodded in agreement, their eyes darting from side to side as they followed Mors deeper into the fortress. They moved with stealth and precision, their senses heightened as they searched for any sign of danger.
But as they explored the dimly lit corridors of the fortress, they encountered no further adversaries. Instead, they found themselves in a vast chamber, its walls adorned with strange symbols and glyphs.
“What is this place?” one of the Shadow Cat Riders asked, their voice filled with wonder.
Mors frowned, his brow furrowed in concentration as he studied the symbols before him. “I’m not sure,” he admitted. “But I have a feeling that we’re about to find out.”
With that, he stepped forward, his hand reaching out to touch one of the symbols on the wall. As his fingers made contact, he felt a surge of energy coursing through him, a sensation that left him feeling both exhilarated and unnerved.
And then, without warning, the symbols on the wall began to glow, their light filling the chamber with an eerie glow. Mors watched in awe as the walls themselves seemed to shift and change, revealing a hidden chamber beyond.
“What is this sorcery?” one of the Shadow Cat Riders exclaimed, their voice filled with disbelief.
Mors shook his head, his mind racing as he tried to make sense of what was happening. “I’m not sure,” he replied. “But we need to find out.”
With that, he led the way into the hidden chamber, his heart pounding in his chest as he prepared to confront whatever mysteries lay within. As they entered, Mors could feel the eyes of the shadowy figures upon them once more, their presence looming over them like a dark cloud.
Inside the hidden chamber, Mors and the Shadow Cat Riders found themselves surrounded by an otherworldly sight. The walls were adorned with ancient tapestries depicting scenes of battles long forgotten, while strange artifacts lined the shelves, their surfaces shimmering with an ethereal glow.
“What is this place?” one of the Shadow Cat Riders whispered, their voice barely audible in the eerie silence of the chamber.
Mors shook his head, his eyes scanning the room for any sign of danger. “I’m not sure,” he replied, his voice low and serious. “But we must proceed with caution.”
As they explored the chamber, they came upon a pedestal in the center of the room, upon which rested a gleaming object that pulsed with a faint light. Intrigued, Mors approached cautiously, his hand outstretched to touch the object.
Before he could make contact, however, a voice echoed through the chamber, its tone ancient and otherworldly.
“Welcome, travelers,” the voice intoned, its words reverberating through the air like a distant echo. “I have been expecting you.”
Mors and the Shadow Cat Riders exchanged wary glances, their senses on high alert as they searched for the source of the voice.
“Who are you?” Mors called out, his voice echoing through the chamber.
“I am but a guardian of this place,” the voice replied. “A keeper of knowledge and secrets long forgotten.”
“What do you want from us?” Mors asked, his tone firm and determined.
“I seek only to aid you in your quest,” the voice replied. “To help you unlock the mysteries of the Shadow World and fulfill your destiny.”
Mors narrowed his eyes, his mind racing as he tried to make sense of the guardian’s words. “What do you mean?” he asked, his voice tinged with uncertainty.
“You are the chosen one,” the guardian replied. “The one foretold in ancient prophecies to bring balance to the Shadow World. But first, you must prove yourself worthy.”
“How?” Mors demanded, his patience wearing thin.
“By facing the trials that lie ahead,” the guardian replied. “Only then will you unlock the true power that lies within you.”
Mors exchanged a glance with the Shadow Cat Riders, his mind racing as he considered their options. “Very well,” he said finally. “We accept your challenge.”
With that, the guardian disappeared, leaving Mors and the Shadow Cat Riders alone in the chamber once more. Determined to prove themselves worthy, they set out to face whatever trials awaited them in the depths of the fortress.
As they ventured deeper into the fortress, they encountered a series of increasingly difficult challenges – from treacherous traps to fierce adversaries that tested their strength and skill at every turn. But Mors and the Shadow Cat Riders fought with a determination that never wavered, their bond stronger than ever as they faced each obstacle together.
And then, finally, they reached the heart of the fortress – a chamber bathed in an ethereal light, its walls adorned with strange symbols and glyphs that seemed to pulse with power.
“This must be it,” Mors said, his voice filled with determination as he stepped forward into the chamber.
As he did, the symbols on the walls began to glow, their light growing brighter with each passing moment. And then, with a deafening roar, the chamber began to shake, its walls crumbling away to reveal a portal that shimmered with a blinding light.
“This is our chance,” Mors said, his voice filled with excitement as he turned to face the Shadow Cat Riders. “We must step through the portal and face whatever lies on the other side.”
The Shadow Cat Riders nodded in agreement, their eyes shining with determination as they prepared to follow Mors into the unknown.

Chapter 9 – The Enkantos in the World of Death
As Mors stepped through the portal, he found himself in a world unlike any he had ever seen before. Before him stretched a vast landscape, dotted with towering spires and shimmering structures that seemed to defy gravity. The air hummed with energy, crackling with the power of magic and technology intertwined.
Beside him, the Shadow Cat Riders gazed around in wonder, their eyes wide with amazement as they took in the sights before them.
“What is this place?” one of the Shadow Cat Riders asked, their voice filled with awe.
Mors shook his head, his mind racing as he tried to make sense of their surroundings. “I’m not sure,” he admitted. “But it seems we’ve stumbled upon something extraordinary.”
As they explored the strange new world, they encountered beings unlike any they had ever seen before. Mors approached one of the inhabitant, his curiosity piqued by their advanced civilization. “Excuse me,” he said, his voice filled with curiosity. “Can you tell us where we are?”
The denizen regarded him with a mixture of amusement and curiosity, their eyes glowing with an otherworldly light. “We are the enkanto. You have entered the realm of Enkantia,” they replied, their voice echoing with power.
The Enkanto resembled mortal beings, with features that seemed familiar yet subtly different. Their eyes sparkled with an otherworldly light, and their movements were graceful and ethereal.
As Mors and the Shadow Cat Riders explored Enkantia, they were astonished by what they saw. The community was a bustling metropolis, filled with towering skyscrapers and bustling streets lined with shops and cafes.
But what truly amazed them was the blending of modern science and magic that permeated every aspect of life in Enkantia. Advanced technology coexisted seamlessly with ancient spells and enchantments, creating a harmonious fusion of the mundane and the mystical.
“We have stumbled upon a truly remarkable place,” Mors said, his voice filled with wonder as he gazed upon the marvels of Enkantia.
The Enkanto welcomed them with open arms, eager to share their knowledge and wisdom with their newfound guests. They explained that Enkantia was a sanctuary, a haven for those who sought refuge from the chaos and darkness of the Shadow World.
“Our ancestors fled to Enkantia centuries ago, seeking to escape the horrors of the Shadow World,” one of the Enkanto explained. “Here, they found peace and prosperity, building a community where magic and technology could thrive side by side.”
Mors and his companions were fascinated by the Enkanto’s way of life and the culture and customs of Enkantia. The Enkanto showed them the intricacies of spellcasting and potion brewing, as well as the inner workings of Enkantian technology.
But as they delved deeper into Enkantia’s secrets, they soon discovered that not all was as it seemed. Beneath the surface of this seemingly idyllic community lurked dark forces that threatened to tear Enkantia apart.
Mors stood in the heart of Enkantia, surrounded by the wise elders of the Enkanto. Their faces were lined with age, yet their eyes sparkled with an ancient wisdom that seemed to pierce the depths of his soul.
The leader of the elders stepped forward, her voice grave with solemnity. “Mors,” she began, her words echoing in the cavernous hall. “We have long awaited your coming, for you are the harbinger of a prophecy foretold by our ancestors.”
Mors’s brow furrowed in confusion as he listened intently to the elder’s words. A prophecy? He had never considered himself to be a part of such grandiose tales.
“The prophecy speaks of a dark being from another world, a being of darkness and yet will bring light to end the darkness that plagues our land,” the elder continued, her gaze unwavering as she spoke. “Many have speculated that this being is none other than you, Mors, a Grim Reaper who hails from a realm beyond our own.”
Mors felt a chill run down his spine at the mention of the prophecy. Could it be true? Had he been destined to come to the Shadow World to fulfill some ancient prophecy?
“I do not understand,” Mors said, his voice tinged with uncertainty. “How can I be the one spoken of in this prophecy? I am but a traveler, seeking refuge in a world shrouded in darkness.”
The elders exchanged knowing glances, as if silently communicating with each other before the leader spoke again. Mors listened intently as the elders of Enkantia revealed the tragic history of the Shadow World.
The eldest of the Enkanto, a venerable figure with eyes that seemed to hold the wisdom of centuries, spoke first.
“It is said that the Shadow World was born from the whispers of forgotten souls,” the eldest elder began, his voice resonating with ancient wisdom. “In the beginning, the Shadow World was a place of refuge for lost souls. It was a realm of endless twilight, where those who had been forgotten by the mortal world could find solace in the shadows.”
“But as time passed, the shadows began to coalesce, forming into tangible entities,” another elder added, her voice soft yet commanding. “These creatures of darkness roamed the land, seeking out lost souls to add to their ranks.”
Mors leaned forward, his curiosity piqued by the elders’ words. He had always been fascinated by the mysteries of the Shadow World, but he had never heard its history recounted in such detail before.
“The lost souls who found themselves in the Shadow World sought refuge in its shadows, building communities and civilizations in the darkness,” the eldest elder continued. “They lived in harmony with the creatures of the shadows, forming bonds that transcended the boundaries of the mortal realm.”
“Enkantia was once a thriving kingdom, bathed in sunlight and prosperity. But a great darkness descended upon our land, a darkness that threatened to consume everything in its path.”
“The people of Enkantia turned to the ancient arts of shadow magic to combat the darkness,” the eldest elder continued. “They formed a secret order of shadow hunters, tasked with protecting our world from the encroaching darkness.”
Mors nodded, his mind racing with questions. “But how did they end up in the Shadow World?” he asked.
The eldest elder sighed heavily. “The battle between light and darkness raged on for years, until finally, the forces of darkness grew too powerful to be contained. In a last desperate attempt to save our world, the shadow hunters opened a rift between dimensions, banishing themselves and the darkness to the Shadow World.”
“Our ancestors became inhabitants of the Shadow World,” a third elder chimed in. “Forced to adapt to this new environment, they learned to harness the power of shadows to protect themselves from the creatures that lurked in the darkness.”
Mors listened intently as the eldest elder continued the tale. “Our ancestors became inhabitants of the Shadow World,” he reiterated, his voice heavy with the weight of history. “Forced to adapt to this new environment, they learned to harness the power of shadows to protect themselves from the creatures that lurked in the darkness.”
The eldest elder spoke again. “Soon, champions of light emerged to counter the darkness,” he explained. “But amongst them, a hero filled with greed sought out to rule the Shadow World.”
The eldest elder with a somber look continued. “He became consumed by his desire for power,” he said gravely. “He allied himself with the darkest of creatures, twisting their powers to serve his own selfish ambitions.”
Mors clenched his jaw, his fists tightening at his sides. “And what became of him?” he pressed, his voice tinged with anger.
“He waged war against both the champions of light and the shadow hunters,” the third elder answered grimly. “But in the end, the champions were defeated and Enkantia was plunged into the shadows. He who allied himself with the dark proclaimed himself as the Shadow Lord.”
“The Shadow Lord plunged the land into chaos and despair.” a third elder interjected, his voice filled with sorrow. “He unleashed his legions of shadow creatures upon the land, driving out the lost souls and enslaving them to his will. ”
The eldest elder sighed heavily. “With heavy heart, our ancestors gathered the last of their strength and created a portal to protect the survivors of Enkantia where the Shadow Lord cannot trespass.”
Mors listened in silence as the elders recounted the events that had led to the Shadow World’s descent into darkness. He could feel the weight of their words pressing down on him, filling him with a sense of sorrow for the lost souls who had once called this realm their home.
“The Shadow Lord’s reign of terror has lasted for centuries,” the eldest elder said, his voice heavy with regret. “But now, with your help, Mors, we have a chance to bring an end to his tyranny and restore peace to the Shadow World once more.”

Chapter 10 – The Assault on the Fortress of Death
Mors listened intently, his heart heavy with sorrow for the souls who had once called the Shadow World their home. He could only imagine the terror and despair they must have felt as the Shadow Lord’s darkness swept over the land, turning their sanctuary into a realm of nightmares.
“But why me?” Mors asked, his voice filled with uncertainty. “Why am I the one chosen to confront the Shadow Lord and bring an end to his tyranny?”
The elders exchanged a knowing glance, their eyes filled with wisdom. “You possess a rare gift, Mors,” one of them said. “The power that resides within you is the key to defeating the darkness that plagues the Shadow World. Only you have the strength and courage to wield it against the Shadow Lord.”
Mors’s mind raced with thoughts and questions. Was it possible that he was somehow connected to the Shadow Lord, the very being responsible for the suffering and despair that plagued the Shadow World?
Mors nodded, his heart heavy with the weight of his newfound destiny. If he truly was the one spoken of in the prophecy, then he knew that he must embrace his role and confront the Shadow Lord, no matter the cost.
“I will do whatever it takes to fulfill this prophecy and bring an end to the darkness that plagues this land,” Mors said, his voice resolute. “But I cannot do it alone. I will need the help of the Enkanto and all who dwell in the Shadow World if we are to succeed.”
The elders nodded in agreement, their faces filled with determination. “Together, we will stand against the darkness,” the leader said, her voice ringing with conviction. “For the fate of our world hangs in the balance, and only by working together can we hope to overcome the shadows that threaten to consume us all.”
And so, Mors rallied the inhabitants of the Shadowland, Schattenheim, and Enkantia, their alliance forged in the fires of prophecy and destiny. Together, they would face whatever trials lay ahead, united in their quest to bring light to the dark lands and vanquish the Shadow Lord once and for all.
As they marched towards the fortress of the Shadow Lord, Mors could feel the tension in the air, a palpable sense of anticipation mingled with fear.
As they reached the gates of the fortress, Mors felt a surge of adrenaline course through his veins. This was it—the moment they had been preparing for. With a deep breath, he raised his sword and charged forward, his comrades at his side.
The battle that ensued was fierce and brutal, the clash of steel and magic echoing through the halls of the fortress. But despite the odds stacked against them, Mors and his allies fought with courage and determination, refusing to back down in the face of adversity.
The clash of steel echoed through the air as Mors and the Shadow Cat Riders battled alongside the Shadow Hunters of Shadowland, the Kriegers of Schattenheim, and Enkantos against the forces of darkness. The Shadow Lord’s minions swarmed around them, their twisted forms writhing with malice as they sought to overwhelm their foes.
“Stay together!” Mors shouted to his companions, his voice cutting through the chaos of battle. “We can’t let them break our ranks!”
The Shadow Cat Riders nodded in agreement, their eyes blazing with determination as they fought side by side with the Enkantos. Together, they formed a formidable wall of steel and magic, pushing back against the relentless tide of darkness that threatened to engulf them.
As Mors wielded his blade with precision and skill, he felt the presence of the Shadow Lord looming over them like a dark cloud. He knew that their true enemy was yet to reveal himself, biding his time until the moment was right to strike.
“We need to find the Shadow Lord and end this once and for all!” Mors called out to his companions, his voice filled with urgency. “Keep fighting! We’re almost there!”
With renewed determination, Mors and his allies pressed on, their blades flashing as they cut through the ranks of the Shadow Lord’s minions. But no matter how many enemies they defeated, more seemed to take their place, their numbers seemingly endless.
“We can’t keep this up forever,” one of the Kriegers remarked, his voice tinged with frustration. “There’s too many of them!”
Amidst the chaos of battle, Mors stood firm, his resolve unwavering as he faced wave after wave of the Shadow Lord’s minions. With gathered strength, Mors called upon his summoning ability, summoning the demons and bandits from his old world, the recently defeated Shadow Cat, shadow monsters, Night Bird, and th recently defeated adversaries to aid him in combat.
“Fight alongside me!” Mors commanded, his voice echoing across the battlefield.
The creatures he summoned responded to his call, rallying to his side with a ferocity that matched his own. With their combined strength, they pushed back against the Shadow Lord’s forces, striking fear into the hearts of their foes.
“Attack!” Mors shouted, leading the charge as they charged headlong into the fray. The blade of his Death Scythe flashed in the sunlight, cutting through the darkness with ease as he struck down enemy after enemy.
Beside him, the Shadow Cat prowled with lethal grace, its claws tearing through the ranks of the Shadow Lord’s minions. The demons unleashed blasts of dark energy, while the bandits launched volleys of arrows from their bows.
Together, they fought as one, their movements synchronized as they wove through the battlefield with practiced ease. The shadow monsters and Night Bird added their own unique abilities to the fray, overwhelming the enemy with their combined strength.
As the battle raged on, Mors could feel the tide turning in their favor. With each adversary they defeated, the Shadow Lord’s forces grew weaker, their morale faltering as they struggled to keep pace with the relentless onslaught.
With renewed determination, they pushed forward, driving deeper into the heart of the Shadow Lord’s stronghold. The fortress loomed before them, its walls bristling with dark energy as they prepared to face their final challenge.
But as they reached the gates, they were met with unexpected resistance. The Shadow Lord’s elite guard stood ready to defend their master to the death, their weapons drawn and their eyes burning with malice.
“Shadow Cat Riders, on me!” Mors shouted as they confronted the elite guard leaving the other allies to battle with the Shadow Lord minions.
“We’ll never get through them!” one of the Shadow Cat Rider exclaimed, his voice filled with fear.
Mors glanced around at his companions, his mind racing as he searched for a solution. Then, with a flash of inspiration, he knew what he had to do.
“Follow my lead,” Mors said, his voice calm and steady. “We’ll take them by surprise.”
With that, he charged forward, his blade flashing as he engaged the elite guard in combat. The Shadow Cat Riders and the other summoned creatures followed suit, their attacks coordinated as they overwhelmed their adversaries with sheer force of numbers.
The elite guard fought valiantly, but they were no match for Mors and his companions. With each passing moment, their numbers dwindled, until finally, they were forced to retreat, leaving the gates unguarded.
“Now’s our chance!” Mors shouted, rallying his companions as they surged forward, their spirits high as they pressed on towards their final objective.
As they entered the inner sanctum of the fortress, they found themselves face to face with the Shadow Lord himself. He stood atop a dais, his dark form towering over them as he regarded them with cold, calculating eyes.
“So, you’ve come to challenge me,” the Shadow Lord said, his voice dripping with malice. “You dare to defy me, the ruler of this world?”
Mors stepped forward, his gaze steady as he met the Shadow Lord’s gaze head-on. “We’ve come to put an end to your reign of terror,” he declared, his voice ringing out with conviction. “Shadow World deserves better than to be ruled by fear and darkness.”
The Shadow Lord chuckled, a cold, humorless sound that sent shivers down Mors’ spine. “You speak with such confidence,” he said, his eyes narrowing as he regarded Mors with disdain. “But you are no match for me, little Reaper. I am eternal, and you are nothing but a fleeting shadow.”
Mors ignored the Shadow Lord’s taunts, his focus unwavering as he prepared to face his greatest challenge yet. With a silent command, he called upon his companions, their forms materializing around him as they prepared to do battle.
“Attack!” Mors shouted, leading the charge as they launched themselves at the Shadow Lord with all their might. The Shadow Lord responded in kind, his dark powers lashing out at them with lethal precision.
The battle raged on, each side unleashing their most devastating attacks in a bid for supremacy. Mors fought with all his strength, his blade flashing as he struck blow after blow against the Shadow Lord’s defenses.
But the Shadow Lord was a formidable adversary, his powers vast and seemingly endless. With each passing moment, Mors felt his strength waning, his limbs growing heavy as exhaustion began to take its toll.
“We can’t keep this up much longer!” one of the demons shouted, his voice filled with desperation.
Mors gritted his teeth, his determination unbroken even as his energy began to flag. He knew that they couldn’t afford to give up, not when they were so close to victory.
“We have to keep fighting!” Mors shouted, rallying his companions as they redoubled their efforts. “We can’t let him win!”
With renewed resolve, they pressed on, their attacks growing more ferocious with each passing moment. The Shadow Lord fought back with equal ferocity, his dark powers wreaking havoc upon them as they clashed in a battle of wills.
But just when it seemed that all hope was lost, Mors felt a surge of energy coursing through him, a newfound strength that filled him with renewed vigor. With a roar of defiance, he unleashed his most powerful attack yet, his Death Scythe glowing with a blinding light. Mors has evolved his Grim Reaper persona into its ultimate form – Death.

Chapter 11 – I Have Become Death, Destroyer of Worlds
As the battle reached its climax, Mors found himself enveloped in a surge of energy, a raw power coursing through his veins like wildfire. His senses heightened, he felt a transformation wash over him, his very essence shifting as he tapped into the depths of his being.
With a primal roar, Mors embraced the surge of power, his form pulsating with an otherworldly glow. His Death Scythe, once a formidable weapon in its own right, now emanated with an intensity that bordered on divine.
The air crackled with anticipation as Mors unleashed his ultimate form – Death. No longer bound by mortal limitations, he stood as a harbinger of destruction, a force to be reckoned with in the face of overwhelming darkness.
With a single swing of his Death Scythe, Death carved through the enemy ranks like a scythe through wheat, his movements fluid and precise as he dispatched his foes with ruthless efficiency.
The Shadow Lord, witnessing the transformation, recoiled in horror as he beheld the embodiment of death itself standing before him. But even in the face of such overwhelming power, he refused to yield, his dark powers surging forth in a desperate bid to cling to his fading influence.
Mors, now Death incarnate, met the Shadow Lord’s onslaught head-on, his movements a blur of motion as he countered each attack with unmatched skill. With each strike of his Death Scythe, the Shadow Lord’s defenses crumbled, his dark aura weakening with every blow.
“You cannot defeat me, mortal!” the Shadow Lord snarled, his voice laced with contempt. “I am eternal!”
But Mors, undeterred, pressed on, his resolve unshakable as he fought with a determination born of centuries of struggle. With each passing moment, he felt the darkness around him begin to fray, its hold on Enkantia slipping away with every strike of his blade.
The Enkantos, witnessing Mors’ transformation, rallied behind him, their faith unwavering as they fought alongside their newfound champion. With each adversary they defeated, their spirits soared, their hope rekindled by the sight of Death standing tall against the forces of darkness.
And then, with a final, decisive blow, Mors struck down the Shadow Lord, his Death Scythe piercing the darkness with a blinding light. With a deafening roar, the Shadow Lord was vanquished, his dark form dissipating into nothingness as his power waned. In its place, a large glowing ball of light shined.
Mors’ allies erupted into cheers, their voices echoing across the battlefield as they celebrated their hard-won victory. Mors, now Death incarnate, stood amidst the ruins of the Shadow Lord’s fortress, his heart filled with pride as he surveyed the scene before him.
“We did it,” one of the Enkantos exclaimed, their voice filled with awe. “We actually did it!”
Mors nodded, a sense of fulfillment washing over him as he looked upon his companions. “Together, we were unstoppable,” he said, his voice filled with gratitude.
“It is an honor to fight alongside you, Mors,” one of the Kriegers said, their eyes shining with respect. “You have saved our world from the darkness that threatened to consume it.”
Mors smiled, a sense of pride swelling within him at the Enkantos’ words. “I am but one among many,” he replied humbly. “Together, we have achieved victory against our common enemy.”
With the defeat of the Shadow Lord, a profound transformation swept through the Shadow World. The oppressive darkness that once shrouded the Land of Enkantia began to recede, replaced by a gentle radiance that bathed the landscape in newfound light.
As Mors and his allies Enkantos emerged from the ruins of the Shadow Lord’s fortress, they were greeted by a sight unlike any they had seen before. Dead trees, once barren and lifeless, now burst forth with vibrant green leaves, their branches heavy with ripe fruits.
“Look,” one of the Enkantos exclaimed, pointing to the rejuvenated trees. “The land is healing!”
Mors smiled, his heart swelling with pride at the sight of the once desolate landscape now teeming with life. “The Shadow Lord’s influence is finally waning,” he said, his voice filled with satisfaction. ” Enkantia is free once more.”
The Enkantos cheered, their voices echoing across the newly revitalized landscape as they celebrated their newfound freedom. For centuries, they had lived in fear under the Shadow Lord’s oppressive rule, but now, thanks to Mors and his companions, they were free to embrace a future filled with hope and promise.
But amidst the jubilant celebrations, Mors couldn’t shake the feeling of unease that gnawed at the edges of his consciousness. He knew that while the Shadow Lord had been defeated, the darkness that he represented still lingered, lurking in the shadows, waiting for an opportunity to strike.
“We must remain vigilant,” Mors said, his voice cutting through the cheers of the crowd. “The Shadow Lord may be gone, but his influence still lingers. We must ensure that the darkness does not return to Enkantia.”
The Enkantos nodded, their expressions solemn as they absorbed Mors’ words. They knew that while their victory was cause for celebration, the battle against the forces of darkness was far from over. They would need to remain vigilant, ever watchful for any signs of the Shadow Lord’s return.
And so, with renewed determination, Mors and the inhabitants of Shadow World set about rebuilding their shattered world, their spirits buoyed by the promise of a brighter future. The Enkantos worked tirelessly to restore Enkantia to its former glory, planting new trees, repairing damaged structures, and tending to the needs of their fellow Enkantos.
Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months as Enkantia flourished. The land thrived, its beauty unmatched as it basked in the warm glow of the rejuvenated sun.

Chapter 12 – The Shadows of Death
Schattenheim rejoined as the soft light of the sun in the Shadow World shone on their settlement. While Shadowland nestled in the fringes of the light surrounding Enkantia.
Schattenheim extended the railroads to the capital of Enkantia, passing by several of its towns and villages along the way in returned, they traded technologies and resources. Shadowland traded in items that are from the mortal world as only Reapers can slip in and out of the Shadow World. In returned they enjoy the advanced technologies from Schattenheim and Enkantia. They formed an alliance and called it ‘Shadow Alliance’.
But even as the settlements in Shadow World prospered, Mors remained ever vigilant, his senses attuned to the slightest hint of darkness that still lingered in the shadows. He knew that the battle against the forces of darkness was far from over, and he was determined to ensure that the alliance remained safe from harm.
The number of Shadow Cat Riders grew in numbers as more clowder of shadow cats were subjugated. More and more lost souls trained to become Shadow Hunters and Shadow Cat Riders. Together they patrol the vast territory that encompasses the borders of the Shadow Alliance.
Malevolence against other lost souls was unheard of. For once a lost should become so evil, they turn into creatures of darkness as demons that the Reapers would gladly dispatch of them.
One day, as Mors patrolled the borders of Shadow Alliance, he sensed a disturbance in the air, a ripple of darkness that sent shivers down his spine. Without hesitation, he raced towards the source of the disturbance, his heart pounding in his chest as he prepared for whatever lay ahead.
As he approached the edge of the forest, Mors spotted a group of shadow monsters emerging from the shadows, their twisted forms moving with unnatural speed. With a grim determination, he drew his Death Scythe, readying himself for battle.
But before he could engage the enemy, a voice called out from the darkness, stopping him in his tracks. “Wait,” the voice said, its tone filled with urgency. “Please, don’t hurt us.”
Mors hesitated, his grip tightening on his weapon as he scanned the shadows for the source of the voice. “Who’s there?” he demanded, his voice sharp with suspicion.
A figure stepped forward from the darkness, their form obscured by the shadows. “We are lost souls,” the figure said, their voice tinged with desperation. “We mean you no harm. We only seek refuge.”
Mors studied the figure carefully, his instincts on high alert as he assessed the situation. He could sense the fear radiating from the lost souls, their eyes wide with terror as they pleaded for mercy.
More and more lost souls were attracted to the light shining thought the dark clouds of the Shadow World. The lost souls became curious and attracted to the light, seeking refuge from the monsters and creatures that lay in wait in the shadows.
After a moment’s hesitation, Mors lowered his weapon, his expression softening with compassion. “You’re safe now,” he said, his voice gentle. “Come with me. I will protect you.”
The lost souls breathed a collective sigh of relief, their fear giving way to gratitude as they followed Mors back to Enkantia. As they entered the safety of the city gates, Mors couldn’t help but feel a sense of satisfaction knowing that he had once again aided those in need.
As the lost souls settled into their new home within the majestic spires of the fortress, the Enkantos welcomed them with open arms, eager to forge a bond of friendship and cooperation. The once desolate fortress now teemed with life, its halls filled with the laughter and chatter of its newfound inhabitants.
“We are grateful for your kindness,” one of the lost souls said, their voice filled with emotion. “We never thought we would find a place where we could belong.”
And so, the lost souls began to carve out a new life for themselves within the walls of the fortress and fields of Enkantia, their presence adding to the diversity and richness of Enkanto society. They shared their knowledge and skills with their new neighbors, forging bonds of friendship that transcended the boundaries of race and culture.
After returning from their patrol along the borders of Enkantia, Mors and the Shadow Cat Riders made their way back to the Reaper community, the Shadowland, remaining in the shadow terrains of Shadow World. As they approached the shadowy enclave, Mors couldn’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia wash over him. The Reapers had been his companions for as long as he could remember, and their bond ran deep.
Entering the Shadowland, Mors was greeted warmly by his fellow Reapers, their hooded figures blending seamlessly into the darkness that surrounded them. “Welcome home, Mors,” Mortis said, the first Reaper that Mors met, her voice warm and lively despite looking cold and deathly.
As night fell and the stars twinkled overhead, Mors gathered with his fellow Reapers and the lost souls residing in the community around a flickering campfire, the flames casting dancing shadows on the surrounding trees. They recounted the stories about Schattenheim and Enkantia and defeating the Shadow Lord, they shared stories of their adventures and battles, their voices filled with camaraderie and pride.
“We have fought many battles together,” one of the Reapers said, their tone reverent. “But our work is far from over. The shadows may be quiet now, but we must remain vigilant.”
Mors nodded, his gaze fixed on the dancing flames before him. He knew that the Reapers would always be ready to defend their home and the lost souls that depended on them. As long as they stood united, they would be able to face whatever challenges came their way.
And so, Shadowland prospered in the shadows, and the inhabitants of Schattenheim, and the once divided inhabitants of Enkantia, united in their shared vision of a brighter future prospered in the light. Shadow and light, coexisting in peace and harmony.
The fortress that was once a symbol of fear and oppression now stood as a beacon of hope and unity, a testament to the resilience of the human spirit.
One evening, as Mors settled in his abode in the cavern a disturbance in the air, a ripple of darkness that sent shivers down his spine. Without hesitation, he raced towards the source of the disturbance, accompanied by Reapers and Shadow Cat Riders, his heart pounding in his chest. And with the powers of the Night Bird, they took flight as they prepared for whatever lay ahead.
